Questions related to the LUT Account:
The LUT Account is a general account used at LUT and LAB, which you can use to log in to the services offered by LUT universities. See LUT Account.
The LUT Account is associated with a username and email address. Either a username or an e-mail address is used as a login for our differing services.
The e-mail address has the form firstname.surname@student.lut.fi. There are several different forms of usernames. If you have accepted your study place at the end of 2019 or later, your username is usually similar to x012345.
In addition, each student also receives a unique student number (e.g. 000765432 or2091234).
You can check your username and email address in the LUT account service at https://id.lut.fi. LUT students can see their student number in Sisu.
The first step is to change the password in the LUT account service. You can find instructions for that here: https://elut.lut.fi/en/it-instructions-and-study-tools/lut-account-and-password
If you cannot log in to the LUT account service with your current password, change your password with your Finnish bank credentials.
If you cannot change your password or if you cannot log in to LUT universities' services with a new password, please contact the Student IT support services.
First, check that you entered the username in the correct format (see question 2: What are username, email address, student number and login ID?). For most of the services, you can use either a username or an e-mail address as a login. However, you can only log in to Microsoft Office 365 services and eduroam with the e-mail address.
If the login is correct, next step is to change the password of your LUT account (see question 3: My LUTID does not work or I have forgotten my password, what do I do?).
After changing the password, wait 15 minutes and try logging in again. If you still cannot log in, please contact the Student IT support service. Tell us which system you are trying to log into and at which web address. Tell us how far you get in the login and if you get any kind of error message. If possible, please send a screenshot of the situation clearly displaying the error message.
Other things:
Forget the eduroam network in the network settings of your device and join it again.
Did you enter your LUT universities email address as a login (e.g.firstname.surname@student.lut.fi)?
Did you use the CAT installation problem to create a network connection? You can download this program/configuration file from the eduroam website (https://cat.eduroam.org/) or from your mobile device's application store, depending on your device's operating system.
You can find more eduroam instructions in eLUT's IT instructions.
Check out the sign in instructions and frequently asked Duo MFA questions
- If you have never activated your Duo Mobile account or need an activation message for a new device
- Check your email, you may already have an activation message (check also from your trash/spam folder)
- Request a new activation message at https://id.lut.fi/duomfa
- There can be many reasons, for example:
- New phone
- Broken phone/screen or otherwise unusable device
- Factory reset the phone
- Uninstalled the app
- Changed the phone number in Sisu/Peppi (this will automatically send an activation message for the new number, to the email in your contact details)
- The QR code and activation link in the message is outdated and does not work
- There can be many reasons, for example:
Webropol is a survey and reporting tool used at LUT universities. Log in to Webropol with your LUT ID at webropol.lut.fi.
Instructions for conducting Webropol surveys can be found on the Webropol website. First log in to Webropol and after that you will fi nd the link "Support and instructions" in the upper right corner of the Webropol website, where you can fi nd many instructions,e.g. extensive guide "Webropol 3.0 Finnish guide, PDF".
The students of LUT University of Business and Economics use these Refinitiv tools to acquire financial data. Refinitiv was formerly known as Thomson Reuters Financial & Risk.
Refinitiv, Eikon and Datastream are different user interfaces for downloading data from Refinitiv. Eikon is Refinitiv's newest application and through it you can download data directly to Excel. Datastream is an older interface and no longer works well with newer versions of Excel.
Datastream is no longer available to students of LUT universities as of October 1, 2021.
Thomson One was decommissioned on April 14, 2022.
Eikon is available through the LUT VDI remote access service from 27 September 2021. Eikon can be used by both LUT and LAB students. When you want to use Eikon, log in to the LUT VDI remote access service with your Eikon credentials instead of your own LUT credentials. You can request passwords for Eikon IDs from LUT University of Business and Economics. Send the request from LUT's or LAB's email address. You can find more information about using Eikon and requesting credentials in the instructions (pdf, 871 KB).
