Data protection refers to protecting the privacy of individuals when, for example, processing the personal data. The operation of the universities of applied sciences requires collecting and storing the personal data, and LUT University is committed to comply legislation concerning the processing of the personal data in its operations.

Information security

Information security is an essential part of university functions and services quality. Information security must be handled in manual and digital processing during whole lifecycle of data. Especially in departments that handle sensitive data security must be taken carefully. University goal is to secure information, information systems, services and information network with sufficient and adequate level and prevent their illegal usage, unintended or intended information destruction and distortion.
