GE3 Network
GE3, in other words The IIE Global E3 Program is a consortium-based exchange program for undergraduate engineering students to study abroad. More information from network's web page.
GE3
Study programme: engineering
Places: 3 (B)
Teaching language: English
The program includes over 70 member universities in more than 20 countries, including Asia, Australia, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and the United States. Students of the LUT University should primarily apply to destinations outside Europe. This program is for bachelor level students.
If you are planning to apply to GE3 network's partner university, the process will start by filling out the application form in the Mobility-Online system. GE3 will appear in the application form as one of potential destinations (study field engineering, country "other"). In the additional information field, you'll need to name from 3 to 5 destination universities. After this you'll need to apply also using GE3's application system, if you have been selected as a "GE3 candidate".
Use the Participating Universities search feature "Program Discovery" to review university brochures and explore program options for host institutions outside your home university's country. It is important to consider the fields of study and fields of engineering that partner schools offer. Below you can find a list of potential destinations for LUT students in the USA.
Applications are reviewed by the IIE Global E3 Program representatives and offered to an appropriate host institution. Please notice that not all applicants can be guaranteed placement or placed at preferred university. However, all students will be placed at the best institutions IIE has determined are appropriate based on applicants field of study and desired work. When applying, choose minimum of three (max 5) desirable destination universities.
Institutional Capacity Chart list contains universities with flexible and limited exchange availabilities. "Flexible" universities are more easy to get in to, whereas "limited" take only a few exchange students annually. It is highly recommended to choose also flexible host universities to your list of preferred destinations.
Please notice, that when applying to study IN the US the student must meet TOEFL/IELTS requirements of the US host institution. These tests are subject to a charge and they are not organized by LUT. The test (TOEFL/IELTS) should be done by the application deadline. It is applicants responsibility to find out about the charge and timing of the test and take the test within a suitable timeframe (before March the 1st). Applications without TOEFL/IELTS scores available by the deadline may be delayed for review and possible disadvantage for top placement request.
