Student Health Care Services - Exchange students

As an exchange student your healthcare services in Finland are provided either through public or private sector depending on the country you come from and your insurances. It is also recommended that you have a valid health care insurance during your whole stay in Finland. Note that unfortunately exchange students are not entitled to use the student health care (FSHS).

Students from EU/EEA: Cities are responsible for providing the public health care services for exchange students coming from EU/EEA countries. Make sure that you have your European Health insurance card (EHIC) with you.

Students from other countries: Those exchange students who come outside of the EU/EEA are recommended to have a private health insurance which covers the use of health care services in private sector.

Insurance: All students are responsible for their own insurance arrangements and we strongly recommend you to take a comprehensive insurance for your stay in Finland. Before leaving your home country, please check your travel and health insurance. Remember to bring the valid insurance policy with you.
