Course feedback

Course feedback surveys provide important information on the quality of teaching for a specific course and, more generally, for the university as a whole. Feedback is collected from all courses as part of the Moodle learning environment.

Students evaluate all LUT courses according to the same questions included in the common questionnaire template. The teacher may add course specific questions to get more detailed feedback on the course.

A course feedback report is generated if the course survey has received at least 3 responses, and the report (without open feedback) is also visible to the students of the course. The guilds of the degree programmes are responsible for compiling the feedback reports to the head of the programme and the quality system manager. She makes the feedback reports available to the other persons responsible for the quality of education in the university education management, the degree programmes and the Bachelor's and Master's programmes. This promotes the sharing of good practices and allows a broader analysis of feedback, e.g. from the perspective of the minor subjects of the degree programme.

Based on course feedback, the best teacher of the year is nominated.

Instructions on giving course feedback

Counter feedback

To help students see the impact of the feedback given and to motivate them to continue to give feedback on their course, teachers give students a response - so-called counter-feedback. In the feedback, the teacher explains what kind of feedback the course received, how the teacher can / will use the feedback in the future, what conclusions the feedback gives rise to, and so on. The teacher publishes the feedback in the same feedback system and it is available to the students in the feedback report.
