Getting started for Open University students

Activate your LUT account

Before you can start your studies or use any services at LUT university, you must activate your LUT account. LUT account is your personal account that you can use to log into different LUT services and software.

If you have a Finnish ID number (personal identity code) and it is saved in our register, you can activate your LUT account at the LUT Account Service https://id.lut.fi/ Finnish network banking credentials or Finnish mobile ID is needed.

Sisu student information system

At Sisu https://sisu.lut.fi/ you can access your personal info (including your student number) and your academic record.

The first time you log in to Sisu, add your home address, postcode and home town to your personal data. Also check that your phone number is preceded by a country code (for example +358 XX XXX XXXX).

You can also print out a study certificate, and after completing the course, a transcript of records.

LUT email

Please use your LUT email address, which you will get after activating your LUT account. Teachers will only use students' LUT email addresses when communicating about courses. More information: IT Instructions and study tools

Moodle Learning Management System

All the courses in the curriculum will have a Moodle course page. You will be added automatically to the course in Moodle after you have enrolled.

Log in to Moodle https://moodle.lut.fi/login/ with your LUT credentials, using LUT link on login page.

Examinations

Open University students are subject to the same examination rules as degree students.
