REGISTRATION FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR
You must register as attending or non-attending for all your active study rights every year to retain your right to study.
Academic year begins on 1st August and only students who have registered as attending have the right to take courses, register studies in the study register and to graduate.
When registering as an attending bachelor’s or master’s degree student, pay the student union membership fee online. Doctoral students do not have to pay the student union membership fee.

Register for the academic year 2022–2023 as attending or non-attending via OILI between 1 May and 31 August 2022.
You can only change attendance to non-attendance during the registration period. You can change your attendance for the autumn semester to an absence by 31 August. For the spring semester, you can change attendance to absence by 31.12. You can make the change in the OILI enrolment service.
You can change your status from non-attending to attending at any time during the present term.
You can make a change between 1 September and 30 April in the OILI enrolment service.
At other times, registrations and changes to registrations will be handled in the same way as late registrations.

Late registration and reinstatement of study rights
If you forgot to register by the deadline, take the following steps:
- Fill in the enrolment form.
- If you register as an attending bachelor’s or master’s degree student, pay the student union membership fee to one of the following bank accounts. Doctoral students do not have to pay the student union membership fee.
- Pay the re-enrolment fee of €35 to the Lappeenranta-Lahti University of Technology LUT bank account.
- Submit your enrolment form and payment receipts to the Student Customer Services.

Reference number and amount:
Use 01914+your student number as the reference number OR if your student number is smaller than 0348994, use 14+ your student number OR if your student number has nine digits, it suffices as the reference number.

Payment of the re-enrolment fee
Pohjola Pankki Oyj, IBAN FI3950000120255954, BIC OKOYFIHH. Write ‘uudelleenkirjautumismaksu’ (re-enrolment fee), your name and student number in the message field.
Delivery of receipts
The payment receipt of the membership fee (only pertains to undergraduate/graduate students) and the re-enrolment fee must be delivered to the Student Customer Services to enable registration and reinstatement of study rights by email to email@example.com or by post to LUT-yliopisto, Opiskelijapalvelut, P.O. Box 20, 53851 Lappeenranta.
Note! You do not have to pay the re-enrolment fee if you are changing your registration status from non-attending to attending. Your study right remains active while you are registered as non-attending and therefore it does not have to be reactivated by paying the re-enrolment fee. Your study right is only inactivated if you fail to register by the deadline.
Reactivation of the study right
Neglecting to register for the academic year uses up the time allocated to you for the completion of your degree. This applies to study rights to study for a bachelor’s or master’s degree that started on 1 August 2005 or later.
If you did not register as an attending or non-attending student for the previous academic year, you must apply for the reactivation of your right to study. You can apply for the reactivation via this form. If your study right is reactivated, you must also pay the re-enrolment fee.
Finnish Student Health Service (FSHS) fee
Students entitled to the services of the Finnish Student Health Service (FSHS) must pay a healthcare fee to Kela for each academic year. Students who are studying for a bachelor’s or master’s degree and have registered as attending for the academic year are entitled to the FSHS services. Doctoral students, exchange students to Finland, open university students, students in continuing education or specialising studies and students attending customer-specific training are not entitled to the FSHS services and do not have to pay the fee.
