The ground floor (2nd floor) of the Lappeenranta Campus Library will close in summer 2025

During the summer, the library premises of the Lappeenranta Campus will undergo renovations related to stormwater drainage. Work will start on the ground floor of the library in early May. Due to the renovation:

  • The outdoor return box is not in use. Loans must be returned to the library's return machine or through the return hatch next to the library door on the third floor.
  • Thesis workplaces will not be available during May. Unfortunately, we will have to cut off all Thesis workspace reservations at the end of April, and Thesis keys must be returned to the library by 30 April 2025 at the latest. Thesis workplaces will likely be available for reservation again in June or in July.
  • Group Study Rooms and SmartBlocks will be unavailable from the beginning of May until approximately mid-August. Remember that there are group workspaces available for booking in the Student Union Building. Once the renovation is over, the library’s facilities will be returned to the reservation system.
  • Books in the serial collection can be requested in Primo. Staff will pick up requested books once a working day.
  • The journal collection and printed theses on the ground floor will be protected from renovation and will not be available for use, at least in May, June and July.

The library will be closed from 27 June until 28 July. Efforts will be made to carry out the necessary renovation work on the upper floors of the library during the closure.
