Sisu- and DOCIS-instructions for doctoral students

Sisu

Sisu is the study and student information system used at LUT University. In Sisu you can, for example, plan your studies by creating a personal study plan (PSP), register for courses and exams, monitor your study progress, or apply for graduation. You can also print an electronically certified transcript of records or a certificate of student status directly from Sisu.

Every doctoral student must create a personal study plan in Sisu, regardless of the year you started your studies.

How to find course information in Sisu?

Postgraduate (doctoral) courses offered at LUT (2025-2026) can be found in the Guide for Postgraduate Studies. If you wish, you can search for course information in Sisu, too.

You can use for example the course title, part of the title or the course code.
Searching with the word "post graduate" is also useful.
By clicking a course name you see a course description (info).
You can filter your search for example according to a course level or curriculum period.
When choosing courses, please remember to check the level, which is mentioned at the beginning of a course description and also in the section Classification - Search tags ("For Post Graduate Studies").
Choose the right curriculum period (version) under a course name to ensure that it is available in that particular academic year.
If your do not find the course you are looking for it may have been omitted from the curriculum permanently or it has changed into a study draft. It is also possible that it will be offered later, for example next year.

DOCIS is a system designed to support your doctoral studies and to coordinate the dissertation process. It is used by doctoral students, supervisors, preliminary examiners and opponents. DOCIS was introduced in March 2026.

DOCIS supports the planning, supervision, and monitoring of your study path by integrating study and research progress, publication information, supervision meetings between the doctoral student and all supervisors, as well as the key stages of the dissertation process.
