Supplementary studies in the master's programmes of Industrial Engineering and Management

Supplementary studies are required only from the student's starting directly in the master’s programmes. Students continuing to master’s programmes from LUT bachelor’s programmes are not required to do supplementary studies.

The need for supplementary studies is determined based on your prior degree and you will receive information of the required supplementary studies by email before the studies start in August. Supplementary studies in Mathematics are required if the previous degree does not offer sufficient technological background knowledge for example business studies.  Supplementary studies require a separate study plan (Studies not included in the degree in Industrial Engineering). Supplementary studies are compulsory studies.

Students who have received their education in Finland in Finnish or Swedish, must demonstrate that they have attained proficiency in other domestic language required by decree in a previous degree. If the required proficiency in other domestic language has not been demonstrated in a previous degree, it must be demonstrated within the studies at LUT. However, this is not required from the students educated in a language other than Finnish or Swedish or who have been educated abroad. This rule applies to all degree programmes.
