In the Bachelor's Programme work experience is included in the free elective studies. The work experience must be related to your field and is worth 2 ECTS credits. The instructions for the internship and the necessary forms can be found in eLUT.

Bachelor's degree students: Tapio Helin.

Master's degree students: No work experience is included in the master's degree, not even as free elective studies.

Students who started in BSc programme in 2023 or earlier

Starting from the academic year 2024-25, internships in engineering degree programs have been changed to work experience.

Internships in the degree structures of 2023-24 and earlier can be replaced with work experience or you can also choose not to complete the internship.

• If you want to replace the internship with work experience, you will have access to a new course called “Work Experience” when you update the “Internship” course to the latest version. Instructions for work experience and the necessary forms can be found in eLUT.
• If you choose not to complete the internship, you need to modify your study plan in Sisu. In the free edit mode, you can remove the internship from general studies and seek approval for this exception through Sisu. Sisu instructions for free modification mode can be found in eLUT. Please note that with the removal of the internship, 2 credits are reduced from the study plan. In this case, the internship must be replaced with another course in elective studies so that the 180 credits of the bachelor’s degree are completed.
