Extension applied for

Decision may be positive or negative. If extension is granted it will only be for one semester or one academic year at a time.

An extended study right may be granted if the student has a realistic possibility to complete his or her studies within a reasonable time-frame. The amount of studies completed, earlier extensions granted and the progress of the studies during earlier extension periods are a factor in whether or not an extended study right can be granted.

Note! If you want your decision by mail, you will get in few post days in written. Your granded extension will be seen right away at your study-right in Sisu.

Enter the payer details. Select Pay and send if all information is correct; or Return if you need to make any updates.

When the extension application processing fee has been successfully paid, a notification appears in the top banner: "The payment was successful. The application has been submitted."

If you cancel the application, the fee will NOT be refunded.

After sending the application in Sisu send the attachments by email to the study counsellor of your degree programme.

Do not write any personal discreet information (like medical history) at your application and all attachments should be sent by e-mail to your degree programmes study counsellor.

Attachments needeed:

• official documents, on what grounds you are applying extension
• Scheduled, free-format plan of unfinished thesis written by the student and accepted by the thesis supervisor. 

You are not able to send other application before you have this closed or cancelled.

When your application is submitted you will find it at your own Applications and decisisions with status Requested.
