14.10.2025: Services CLOSED on Friday, October 17, 2025, and the Campus desks are closed during autumn break week 43 (October 20–24, 2025)
On Friday, October 17, 2025, student IT support services, such as telephone and email services, will be closed exceptionally.
During autumn break on week 43, the student IT support desk on campus will be closed.
Please familiarize yourself with the frequently asked questions and try out the Neo-bot, which can be found on the eLUT front page and, for example, on the "Student IT Guide" page, once cookies and analytics have been accepted.

10.9.2025: LUT & LAB Desktop available on 15 September 2025 – Renewed remote access platform for students and staff
LUT and LAB universities' remote desktop service, LUT-VDI, is now called LUT & LAB Desktop – Virtual Workspace and can be accessed at https://desktop.lut.fi via browser or the Citrix Workspace app. The staff's LUT Resources service will be integrated into this new platform later, with a separate announcement to follow.
The service will be launched on Monday, September 15, 2025, at 08:00.
Detailed instructions for utilizing the service will be provided upon its official release.
Why the change?
The background of the renewal is the need to combine all remote access services of LUT and LAB on the same platform, allowing the service to be managed and developed centrally. Additionally, thanks to the new solution, the number of simultaneous users can be increased, further improving the accessibility of the service for students and staff.
Who is the service intended for?
LUT & LAB Desktop is intended for all students and staff of LUT University and LAB University of Applied Sciences. With the service, you can access the software of LUT and LAB computer classrooms and a virtual desktop, through which you can work flexibly outside the campus.
With the new platform, users can log in to the service both with a browser and the Citrix Workspace application on different devices. Usage is straightforward, and the universities' software can be easily found in the portal without separate installations.
6.6.2025: Major IT Service Outage on Sunday 8th of June, 2025 at 9:00–15:00
As part of the new server environment deployment, there will be a wide service outage affecting all internal services and some external ones (e.g. login-based systems). Initially, all services will be offline and will gradually return. Some services may experience shorter or longer interruptions. Service-specific disruptions may also occur during June due to phased migration. We aim to inform users in advance of any visible outages.

25.4.2025: Student IT services in summer
IT Support Desks and phone service will be closed starting from 1 May due to the summer break. We will reopen in August. During the break, please contact us via email only: student.ithelpdesk@lut.fi.
24.4.2025: Student IT Guide Update from April 28th to May 2nd
The Student IT Guide will be updated from April 28th to May 2nd. The pages and contents of the guide will be reorganized to improve clarity. A notice will be displayed on the pages being edited.
