Master's thesis workplace
Students must find their own thesis workplace, i.e., a commissioner of the work:
- from companies (summer jobs, internships, etc)
- via job applications
- from company notices on thesis opportunities
- from the university’s career services
- from research projects in industrial engineering and management
Tips:
- Offer the right topic to the right person, target your applications.
- Find out about the company.
- Anticipate the company’s needs, analyse any problem areas.
- Offer a couple of options.
- Be prepared to carry out the work commissioned by the company and shape it into a thesis.
- Work on various options systematically.
- Do not be discouraged even if you do not succeed at first.
- Carry out your summer jobs and internships meticulously to create a network in companies.
- Improve your competitiveness on the labour market right from the start of your studies:
- make learning and gaining new skills your goal, not the accumulation of credits.
- Improve your job application skills.
