Publishing research results

Research includes openness and comparability. Open Access publishing is today an essential part of the publishing process. In its strategy LUT University is committed to promote open science and increase the number of scientific co-authored publications.

In order to prevent authorship disputes, the Finnish National Board on Research Integrity TENK has drawn up recommendations for researchers working in Finland on how to agree on the authorship of research co-publications. These recommendations serve as a general guide, which is meant to be considered alongside the established practices of the discipline in question.

Publications in dissertations

If you intend to include your publication in your doctoral dissertation, remember to check and ask the publisher's permission to do that. It is recommendable to do that as soon as the article has been published. More information: LUT Academic Library.

You should also read the LUT dissertation regulations (see Files) for instructions on including a publication in more than one scientific postgraduate degree thesis. Authors must agree on this in writing already when submitting the article.
