Substitutions and credit transfers for LUT courses - Sisu
The student can
substitute a LUT course with a equivalent LUT course. The possibility of substitution for the course has been defined in the system
apply for credit transfer with equivalent studies elsewhere or by proving that the student has gained competence covering the learning outcomes some other way
apply for credit transfer approval in three ways:
The activities are initiated by the student. An application for approval can only be made in the education leading to a degree in a study plan.
If the course is removed and replaced by a direct replacement course, then the replacement will be applied for in PSP through the course brochure:
Click on the course code to open the brochure
Switch to the latest version, and enable the version at the top of the page if there are no substitutions on the Equivalences and substitutions tab
Click the Equivalences and substitutions tab
Under the Equivalences and substitutions, select the replacement course (s)
The replaced course is displayed in PSP as follows:
Note! If there is no substitution to the version you have selected and you change the version to a newer one and the selection is not allowed > click Switch to this version in the upper bar > close the brochure > goes back to the personal plan > select the brochure again > the selection becomes possible.

Pressing the Edit box at the bottom, a new window open, choose Equivalences and substitutions tab, chose I do not choose an equivalent course, and close the window in the upper right corner.
Credit transfer for a course can be applied directly from the course:
Click on the course code to open the brochure
Switch to the latest version, and enable the version at the top of the page
Click the Equivalences and substitutions tab
Under Substitution: approval of a course with competence completed elsewhere, select go to application
Application opens as Substitution application. First add information on studies or other prior learning:
Select either
completed studies,
Do not use this option, if you have Other prior learning, instructions and application form is found from here.
Fill all the information and add all the necessary attachments.
Continue > Check the information and send the application.
It is advisable to add to the same application only those studies or competence information for which one performance entry can be made.
Once the application has been submitted, it can be printed in pdf format. The application can also be canceled, in which case it can no longer be returned, and a new application must be made if necessary.
Application information can also be found in My Profile > Applications and Requests
Once the application has been processed, a message will be sent to the students home page in Sisu approving or rejecting the application.
