Apply for start-up funding for a thesis related to Lahti area

Does your thesis have a connection to Lahti? Could it have one? Lahti University Consortium grants 500-euro start-up grants for the early stages of thesis work for University of Helsinki and LUT University students.

The prerequisite is that the thesis (Bachelor’s thesis, Master’s thesis or dissertation) is planned or started in cooperation with a company or organization in the Lahti region, or that the thesis is in some other way beneficial for the region.

The Lahti University Consortium is one of the implementers of the Luontoaskel terveyteen (Nature Step to Health) program, which combines the environmental and health goals of Päijät-Häme. In this application round, we particularly favor applications related to planetary health. For more information about the program and planetary health, visit: https://lahdenyliopistokampus.fi/en/nature-step-to-health/

The purpose of the start-up grant is to help get you started. You can use the money (for example) for travels to Lahti, contacting, or other kind of planning.

Funding is primarily awarded for Bachelor’s and Master’s theses.

You can get help from the Lahti University Consortium to find local partners.

The decision on the start-up money will be made approximately within a month from the deadline. In case we get a lot of applications we will prioritize thesis work done in Lahti and/or theses that are on their early stages. We reserve the right to choose most suitable applications.

Start-up money will not be granted to people who have already received it in the past. Start-up funding cannot be granted to persons who are employed by the University of Helsinki.

We will feature the recipients in our social media channels. By applying you commit to briefly report back later on how your work is progressing.

Deadline for applications is February 18.
