There is a border zone on Finland's eastern border to maintain border security. It is up to three kilometers wide in the terrain. 

The South-East Finland Border Guard urges special attention to be paid to the terrain near the border and when moving in water areas.

Be advised that moving in the border zone is always subject to a permit and punishable without a permit.
