Warmth from Wool - Lahti and Lappeenranta

Want to do something small but meaningful for the student community this winter? Join us in knitting wool socks for the upcoming "How to Survive Winter in Finland" gatherings!

In Finland, wool socks are more than just clothing. They are a symbol of care, home, and tradition. For many, they bring back memories of socks lovingly knitted by someone close, warming both toes and hearts.

We want to share this feeling with students, especially international students who might not know the cultural meaning behind wool socks. It’s our way of saying: you’re not alone – welcome home.

How to join:
🧶 Knit one or more pairs of wool socks – all sizes and colors are welcome!
📌 Add a small note with the approximate size. You can also include a short message or story if you like.

Where and when to bring the socks:

Lahti:
