LUT University is taking its EULiST collaboration a step further in autumn 2023, as the partner universities are launching a new European university with EU funding. The venture is significant and on the same scale of importance as, for instance, the establishment of LUT University, LUT Business School or LUT’s Department of Social Sciences.
The collaboration is meant to improve the competitiveness of European universities. In the future, the new university could operate like an international business enterprise, with offices in different European countries.
Jari Hämäläinen, vice rector for research and innovation, explains what the new European university means in practice and why a Finnish university should be part of a European network.
